Brushing should be done as soon as the first teeth appear. Indeed, it is from this moment that the bacterial plaque responsible for cavities develops. At the beginning, it is up to the parents to brush their teeth, taking care to move the brush from the gum to the tooth by making very small gestures. Brush on the outside, then on the inside and chewing sides of the teeth. Start with the upper teeth and then repeat the operation on the lower teeth.

As the child grows, accompany him in these gestures by holding the brush and teaching him the right movements. Be careful not to press too much so that your child does not associate brushing with a painful and unpleasant moment.
Don’t restrain your child and let him brush his teeth on his own whenever he feels like it! This stage is part of personal development and autonomy.
From this period, it is recommended to follow the UFSBD technique called the BOUBOU technique:

From birth to 2 years of age, it is recommended to brush once a day. From the age of 3 to 6 years, 2 brushes a day are enough. Then, the recommendations are the same as for adults, namely after each meal, and at least 2 times a day!
