The first consultation is a real meeting between the practitioner and his patient. It will be the place for a general assessment of the state of health (allergy, ENT follow-up, asthma, growth problems, etc.), the reason for the visit and the prescriber of it (if it is a visit recommended by another health professional or if it is an instinctive visit).
During this first appointment, a clinical and endooral examination will be carried out, in order to be able to detect the dental anomaly in the presence of the various dental anomalies, and to complete the patient’s orthodontic file: this file makes it possible to trace all the acts, decisions, exchanges between the patient, the orthodontist and the various health professionals involved in the treatment.
For the patient, this first consultation is an opportunity to clarify the modalities of orthodontic treatment, both in terms of deadlines and organization of it, and in financial terms.
This first appointment will probably require additional examinations in order to refine the diagnosis, such as a radiological assessment and additional examinations, an X-ray of the wrist to assess growth forecasts, or dental impressions.
